| KLEINER'S KORNER FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 27, 2011
|
To my dear Readers & Subscribers:
A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
1. As the first half of 2011 comes to a close and the 10th anniversary of Kleiner's Korner is noted in the next quarter, I have decided to make some changes as follows:
A. The volume of e-mails has become so overwhelming that I have had to make a decision to cut-back on the huge workload that has ensued.
B. This will be the last e-mailed edition of the Kleiner's Korner Newsletter sent to subscribers on a weekly basis.
C. YES, Kleiner's Korner will continue to publish stories of interest, however only on the Kleiner's Korner website: www.kleinerskorner.com
D. I am very pleased to announce that MastersConnection will be the vehicle for delivery of the Korner in the future. I applaud the work of Ben Mann & Jan Jones in what they have done to continue the legacy of Stephany Ray, a person whom I admired, respected & shared stories of mutual interest frequently. If you desire to get their regular e-letter with Kleiner's Korner, check-out the MastersConnection website:
link here
E. The future Kleiner's Korner will have no editorial commentary, no observations & no insertions. That a story is listed will speak volumes as to this writer's views. F. The Yelm Community Blog is in-process of undergoing a transformational change that will be quite refreshing for this area and Blog readers. I will present that to all of you in an e-mailed Korner announcement soon. MastersConnection has also been gracious to include Local Notes from the Yelm Community Blog on their Newsletter, as well.
And last, this 10 year adventure has been one of tremendous learning, growth and achievement in bringing news that is in the public domain, yet does not reach the front pages. An integral part of providing those resources has been YOU, the reader, who have e-mailed your choice sites and views during this tenure. I have enjoyed and appreciated each and every e-mail I have received. You must know that I have personally read EVERY e-mail sent to me, whether I have responded, or not.
Earlier this month, I have been made aware from an entity I intimately trust and respect that I have "abused" the Korner via editorial insertions that have had an affect to hurt many people. Those that truly know me would tell you that upon hearing that news, that would be very painful for me, as that has never been my intent nor desire.
To those of you that his holds true, I can only humbly say, "I apologize" and acknowledge and hope at some point that you can forgive my transgressions.
Ramtha has inspired his students to write a book of their experiences in his School. Kleiner's Korner has been my book to date. This has been a ten year project (ten-ure), moving in the ebb and flow of world news each week .
Today's Kleiner's Korner can be accessed in-full:

Thanks go to all of you for your encouragement, support, contributions & love!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK “We’re one big power outage from being a third world country.” Dave Ross (1952- ) Talk-Show Host on CBS affiliate KIRO 97.3 FM radio, Monday, March 28. Listen to the podcast in the 9am segment:

1. UPDATE TO THIS STORY POSTED HERE LAST WEEK "Russia Says IMF Chief Jailed For Discovering All US Gold Is Gone" Ed. Note: I agree that Egyptian banker Mahmoud Abdel Salam Omar's arrest in the same manner as DSK looks like a a set-up. I am interested to hear evidence in DSK's trial go public! By Sorcha Faal, What Does It Mean:
link here
Dear Readers;
As several of you wrote, Sorcha Faal is a disinformer, as listed in Rumor Mill News:
link here
I know that. My error last week was in not informing you what my motivation was to have this story on the Korner, which was this: There were many questions that have been in the news that makes one pause think, raised on the link last week: 1. What IS the US gold tally in Fort Knox? Rep. Ron Paul has asked. 2. I am in many, many hotels worldwide & ALL housekeepers have one thing in common - they put a stopper to keep the door fully open when they enter a room, after they knock, then slowly enter the hotel room, calling out to see if someone is there, before cleaning the rooms. Was this procedure followed at the Sofitel in NYC? Seems if a sexual relation happened between the housekeeper & DSK, that was consensual. Tell me how a man forces a woman to have oral sex with him without her biting deep his member and then running, while the man is in writhing agony. Ever seen exactly that in the movie Jumpin Jack Flash where Whoppi did, albeit through clothing? 3. Then, the same thing with a hotel maid telling the same story with the Egyptian banker up-town a few days later.
All very suspicious. Let's see what is revealed in court.
Appreciate all of you who wrote. .
2. NASA SENDS LETTER TO THEIR EMPLOYEES "A major initiative has been placed on Family/Personal Preparedness for all NASA personnel. The NASA/Family Preparedness Program is designed to provide awareness, resources, and tools to the NASA Family (civil servants and contractors) to prepare for an emergency situation. The most important assets in the successful completion of NASA’s mission are our employees’ and their families. We are taking the steps to prepare our workforce, but it is your personal obligation to prepare yourself and your families for emergencies."

3. THE WORLD OF THE QUANTUM A. "New 'Double Slit' Experiment Skirts Uncertainty Principle" "Physicists show that in the iconic double-slit experiment, uncertainty can be eased." "What quantum physicist Aephraim Steinberg of the University of Toronto in Canada and his colleagues have now shown, however, is that it is possible to precisely measure photons' position and obtain approximate information about their momentum, in an approach known as 'weak measurement'," quoting Edwin Cartlidge of Nature magazine:

B. Antimatter atoms are corralled even longer 'Scientists have succeeded in trapping atoms of anti-hydrogen for more than 15 minutes.
The feat is a big improvement on efforts reported last year that could corral this mirror of normal hydrogen for just fractions of a second at best.
The researchers tell Nature Physics journal that they can now probe the properties of antimatter in detail.
This will help them understand why the Universe is composed of normal matter rather than its opposite," quoting Jonathan Amos for the BBC:

C. 'A Big Surprise from the Edge of the Solar System" "NASA's Voyager probes are truly going where no one has gone before. Gliding silently toward the stars, 9 billion miles from Earth, they are beaming back news from the most distant, unexplored reaches of the solar system.
Mission scientists say the probes have just sent back some very big news indeed.
It's bubbly out there.
'The Voyager probes appear to have entered a strange realm of frothy magnetic bubbles,' says astronomer Merav Opher of Boston University. 'This is very surprising,'" quoting NASA:

D. "DNA Can Discern Between Two Quantum States, Research Shows" "Do the principles of quantum mechanics apply to biological systems? Until now, says Prof. Ron Naaman of the Institute's Chemical Physics Department (Faculty of Chemistry), both biologists and physicists have considered quantum systems and biological molecules to be like apples and oranges. But research he conducted together with scientists in Germany, which appeared recently in Science, shows that a biological molecule -- DNA -- can discern between quantum states known as spin," quoting Science Daily:

4. A WARMING PLANET STRUGGLES TO FEED ITSELF" "The rapid growth in farm output that defined the late 20th century has slowed to the point that it is failing to keep up with the demand for food, driven by population increases and rising affluence in once-poor countries.
Consumption of the four staples that supply most human calories — wheat, rice, corn and soybeans — has outstripped production for much of the past decade, drawing once-large stockpiles down to worrisome levels," by Justin Gillis in the New York Times.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK "Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment." Oprah Winfrey (1954- ) American television personality, actress and producer. Quoted in Tulsa World.

1. CELLPHONES 'POSSIBLY CARCINOGENIC,' REPORT SUGGESTS" "An international panel of experts says cellphones are possibly carcinogenic to humans after reviewing details from dozens of published studies.
The statement was issued in Lyon, France, on Tuesday [May 31] by the International Agency for Research on Cancer after a weeklong meeting of experts. They reviewed possible links between cancer and the type of electromagnetic radiation found in cellphones, microwaves and radar.
The agency is the cancer arm of the World Health Organization and the assessment now goes to WHO and national health agencies for possible guidance on cellphone use," quoting Maria Cheng on MSNBC:

2. "GOD IS NOT A CHRISTIAN" "The following is excerpted from the Archbishop Desmond Tutu's new book, "God Is Not A Christian: And Other Provocations." This talk also comes from a forum in Britain, where Tutu addressed leaders of different faiths during a mission to the city of Birmingham in 1989...
"We are supposed to proclaim the God of love, but we have been guilty as Christians of sowing hatred and suspicion; we commend the one whom we call the Prince of Peace, and yet as Christians we have fought more wars than we care to remember. We have claimed to be a fellowship of compassion and caring and sharing, but as Christians we often sanctify sociopolitical systems that belie this, where the rich grow ever richer and the poor grow ever poorer," By Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Reader Supported News.

4. NEWS OF TWINS IN THE LAST WEEK A. "Could Conjoined Twins Share a Mind?" "But Krista and Tatiana are not like most other sets of twins. They are connected at their heads, where their skulls merge under a mass of shaggy brown bangs. The girls run and play and go down their backyard slide, but whatever they do, they do together, their heads forever inclined toward each other’s, their neck muscles strong and sinuous from a never-ending workout," quoting Susan Dominus in the New York Times Magazine.

B. "NY-BORN TWIN FRIARS DIE ON SAME DAY AT AGE 92" "Identical twins Julian and Adrian Riester were born seconds apart 92 years ago. They died hours apart this week. The Buffalo-born brothers were also brothers in the Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor. Professed friars for 65 years, they spent much of that time working together at St. Bonaventure University, doing carpentry work, gardening and driving visitors to and from the airport and around town," quoting the AP on CBS News.

"This video was created as an official response to the Newsweek article calling Grand Rapids a "dying city." We disagreed strongly, and wanted to create a video that encompasses the passion and energy we all feel is growing exponentially, in this great city. We felt Don McLean's "American Pie," a song about death, was in the end, triumphant and filled to the brim with life and hope." - Rob Bliss, Director & Executive Producer On YouTube:
