| KLEINER'S KORNER FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 21 , 2011
|
QUOTE OF THE WEEK "In war, truth is the first casualty." Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC) Greek tragic dramatist
Ed. Notes: 1. Thanks to those of you who wrote on Sgt. Bradley Manning's story. This story gets virtually no USA mainstream media coverage. UK's Guardian penned a terrific Op-Ed last week on this whole charade: "Bradley Manning: Cruel and unusual" "There was at least the ghost of an excuse for bullying foreign combatants but no US need for mistreating one of their own"
link here And: "Hilary Clinton's spokesman, PJ Crowley, wisely pointed this out – calling the treatment "counterproductive and stupid" - he had to resign."
link here And: "Manning's Appeal of Refusal to Relax Conditions Outlines More Details of Mistreatment" By Kevin Zeese, Truthout:
link here
Manning has been confined for 10 months and is still untried and unconvicted. Seriously, we can not mean someone is incarcerated in solitary confinement in the USA, without being tried, can we?
2. I have not received so many e-mails about the situation in Japan as I did last week, since the re-election of G. W. Bush. The difference though last week was in the content of many that sent disinformation about taking iodine pills, radiation on the West Coast & other factors, with no corroboration. This week's QUOTE OF THE WEEK above was chosen for this reason.
With all aspects of the Japan tragedy being reported widely, I am only listing stories here I find out note.

| KLEINER'S KORNER SPECIAL-EDITION FOR MARCH 16, 2011
|
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JZ! March 16th
This Special Kleiner's Korner edition marks the 65 anniversary of the birth of a person I am proud to consider one of the few 'friends' I count on one-hand - JZ Knight.
In her dedication to "channel" Ramtha, the Enlightened One, my life was saved from a certain death over 25 years ago from what I learned from Ramtha and was inspired to change in myself.
Now in her 35th year as the unique channel of Ramtha, author of the best-selling autobiography, “A State of Mind, My Story”, historians and religious experts who have studied her life’s work call JZ Knight the Great American Channel and recognize her as one of the most charismatic and compelling spiritual leaders of the modern age.

2. "GADGETS RUINING PEOPLE'S SLEEP - STUDY" "A study released this week indicated that people in the United States are losing sleep over their gadgets.
All but five per cent of people surveyed as part of a National Sleep Foundation poll said they played videogames, watched television, or used smartphones or laptop computers in the hour before going to bed.
'This study reveals that light-emitting screens are in heavy use within the pivotal hour before sleep,' said doctor Charles Czeisler of Harvard Medical School.
Being bathed in the glow of monitors or handset screens suppresses the release of sleep-promoting hormone melatonin and enhances alertness, making it more difficult to sleep, according to Czeisler.
The poll showed that 43 per cent of people ages 13 to 64 felt they rarely or never got a decent night's sleep during the work week," quoting the AFP in the Sydney Morning Herald:

Hoover, an astrobiologist with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, has traveled to remote areas in Antarctica, Siberia, and Alaska, amongst others, for over ten years now, collecting and studying meteorites. He gave FoxNews.com early access to the out-of-this-world research, published late Friday evening in the March edition of the Journal of Cosmology. In it, Hoover describes the latest findings in his study of an extremely rare class of meteorites, called CI1 carbonaceous chondrites -- only nine such meteorites are known to exist on Earth," quoting Garrett Tenney on FOX News:
